Meet our Corporate Services Team

Stephanie is our Corporate Services Manager

Stephanie recently joined KNAC in mid 2022, bringing with her significant experience in senior leadership gained from years of working in a number of community-based organisations.

Choosing to work in an Aboriginal Corporation is a change for her and she is embracing the challenge of learning new skills whilst enjoying utilising her vast experience.

She is excited to work across both the strategic and operational aspects to provide operational oversight, supporting the business planning, budgeting, communications, risk & compliance, with the support from the corporations CEO.

Stephanie and her family moved to South Hedland in 2015 and the initial plan was to remain in Hedland for a couple of years, however she’s really enjoyed the lifestyle, people, and community so much that the family have settled into the community.

She is excited about the year ahead and is focussed on building and leading a Corporate Services function that creates an environment in which Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation continues to succeed.

Soraya is our Community Officer

Soraya is Torres Strait Islander.

She has been with KNAC since 2016 bringing with her a background in Community Development and Mentoring.

Her role here is varied as a Community Officer  – looking after Trust applications, home purchasing,  stakeholder engagement, community programs, member support.

The best part of her job is being part of closing the gap within Nyiyaparli members regarding health, home maintenance, employment, and business improvements.

Her goals for working here include seeing more children achieve the highest education and support to empower the next generation of strong Nyiyaparli kids to be part of the future of KNAC. Improving the health and wellbeing of Nyiyaparli people is also on her list of goals

"I have made lifelong friendships with some members here"

Jasmin is our Community Officer

Jasmin is a Thalanyji woman who has been with us since 2017.

Her role with us was her first main role since leaving school and since her time here she has had many roles from being the receptionist, admin officer, and is now one of our Community Officers working alongside Soraya.

Her role is busy and varied but amongst the many things she is involved in she processes Trust applications and supports members with issues about any Trust applications – medical, education, housing etc.

She loves her job and really likes seeing members getting the outcomes that they want.

I have enjoyed meeting members over the years and have loved seeing people advance in their life"

She returned to KNAC in Feb 2022 and takes on many administrative tasks including providing administrative support to the CEO and Corporate Services Manager.

She finds this job rewarding. Edith loves helping people and is pleased knowing, as a Nyiyaparli woman, that the team she works with all love helping the community.

"I am grateful to the Elders for what they did that allows us to have this great office and being able to do all we do. I am proud to wear the Karlka logo"

Keanan is our Member Support.

Keanan is a Nyiyaparli man who started working at KNAC in May 2022. He is also  involved with KNAC through sitting on various committees and was previously a Director.

His role on the Front Desk is being that first point of contact for people. His job is busy greeting people, answering calls and emails, supporting members fill out forms and stepping in to help out the Community Officers too.

He enjoys working with members and ensuring they get the best service possible.
