The Board of Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation (KNAC) are pleased to be calling for Expressions of Interest from Nyiyaparli Members to join the newly established Nyiyaparli Health and Wellbeing Project Committee.
This Committee will guide the implementation of recommendations from the 2024–2025 Nyiyaparli Health and Wellbeing Project, which focused on the experiences of Nyiyaparli people living with kidney disease and the agreed priorities of:
• Increasing access to dialysis on-Country;
• Supporting Nyiyaparli people travelling for treatment;
• Establishing partnerships with organisations such as Wirraka Maya, Purple House, the Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health,
and Kidney Health Australia;
• Providing culturally grounded education and support for prevention and care.
The Committee will consist of KNAC Member Directors and Nyiyaparli Members who bring lived experience, knowledge of health and wellbeing issues, and/or strong interest in supporting the community. Members who participated in the development of the program are encouraged to apply.

A workshop to discuss the project next steps and the role of the committee will be held at the KNAC South Hedland Office on Friday 13 June.
