Angela grew up around the Flinders Ranges in South Australia before living and working at the Defence Precinct in the outback desert area of Woomera, SA for over 18 years. She is now fortunate to be living and working on beautiful Nyiyaparli Country in Newman.
Her role as General Manager of Karlka Commerce is supported by decades of working in government, corporate and small business and by gaining experience in business management and operations across a variety of industries.
Having lived and worked in remote locations she has a clear understanding of the challenges of delivering services in the Pilbara. She has also previously worked for Aboriginal Corporations helping her to greater understand some of the complexities of the sector and has taught her to continuously learn and listen to community to guide her to deliver the KNAC objectives.
STEVE CLARENCE

Steve was born in South Africa but moved to Perth in 1998 and Perth is where he still lives and works as the General Manager of Karlka Fencewright.
He started in the fencing industry in 2009, working as a fencing labourer and since then took on many roles including Fence Installer, Project Supervisor, Project Manager, Sales Representative, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager and National Business Development Manager.
The progression of these roles has allowed Steve to develop a rounded understanding of all aspects of the fencing industry and of Karlka Fencewright which made him the perfect candidate to take on the role of General Manager in 2023.
DYLAN SOUTER

Dylan is originally from Canberra and regionally NSW but now lives in Queensland.
In April 2024 he started working as the General Manager of the Queensland Karlka Fencewright.
He is over 20 years working in the fencing industry. He started off learning his trade as a labourer before taking on other roles and gaining more experience before becoming an Operations Manager, and ultimately the General Manager. This depth and longevity in the industry makes him extensively experienced to take on this new role in QLD.
RICHARD GRATTE

Richard was born and raised around Newman, moving from a neighbouring station to Ethel Creek with his family in 1990.
He spent 5 years at boarding school in Perth before starting his career in the pastoral industry in 2005.
Richard completed work on various cattle stations and mines across the country, but moved home to follow his passion and work across both Ethel Creek and Marillana stations in 2013.
He worked his way up from Station hand to Overseer, holding the Overseer role from 2014 until the transition of the sublease of Ethel Creek and Marillana from BHP to KNAC began in 2021, when he took on the Station Manager position with KNAC.
His history at the stations means that Richard has an in depth understanding of the business and has been able to forge strong relationships in the industry and surrounding areas.
JAMES RHEE

James was born and raised in Tasmania but has been living in South Hedland for over 10 years now. Indeed James has been working at KNAC for over 10 years and during that time he has taken on many roles!
Being at KNAC for over a decade means that James knows most members and has developed good relationships with the community, he understands the local area well, and has positive working relationships with the mining companies, all of which supports him in the many roles he has had here.
His current role is Member Support Officer for Karlka Commerce where his job involves helping members with employment.
JESSICA NEWMAN

Jessica is the Newman Office Manager, responsible for keeping the door open to our Newman members and ensuring the smooth running of the satellite office.
Growing up in a small remote town in South Australia she has since lived in many places including K’gari, the world’s largest sand island! She loves being outdoors and so exploring the Pilbara region by bike, foot or car makes her happy. Living in Newman gives her the opportunity to meet people and learn about the local culture through engaging in local events.
She has a Bachelor’s in Fashion and Sustainability and is passionate about social and environmental issues.
