Who are we?

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is a not-for-profit organisation and the Native Title representative group for the Nyiyaparli People who are the Traditional Owners of land and water areas in the east Pilbara region.

The Determination Area (approx 40,000 square kms) of Nyiyaparli traditional country and encompasses the town of Newman, the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases and significant mining operations and include ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools and natural resources.

About the Role: 

Based in South Hedland, the Heritage Services Logistics Officer role is to provide administration and logistics support across Heritage Services. Reporting to the KNAC Heritage Services Implementation Coordinator, this role will be responsible for the coordination and communication of logistical arrangements across heritage surveys and cultural monitoring activities (heritage field engagements), including booking medicals and travel arrangements for KNAC representatives.

  • Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Attention to detail and an unquestionable commitment to confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience working with computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices as well as follow instruction
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Heritage Services Implementation Coordinator with day-to-day heritage field engagements.
  • Organise KNAC Representatives attendance at Welcome to Country ceremonies.
  • Identify and support KNAC representatives for heritage field engagements.
  • Scheduling medical appointments for KNAC Representatives
  • Communication of heritage field engagement logistical arrangements.
  • Arrange and book all travel requirements for the Heritage Services team as required.
  • Provide administrative support to KNAC Representatives, managing any queries and assisting with onboarding documents and payroll deductions forms.
  • Ensure work health and safety requirements are adhered to.
  • It is a requirement of the role to provide a National Police Certificate.
