About Us

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is a not-for-profit organisation and the Native Title representative group for the Nyiyaparli People who are the Traditional Owners of land and water areas in the east Pilbara region.

The Determination Area (approx 40,000 square kms) of Nyiyaparli traditional country and encompasses the town of Newman, the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases and significant mining operations and include ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools and natural resources.

About the Role:

The primary objective of the Heritage Administration Officer will be to support administratively across Heritage Services, including undertaking logistical arrangements across heritage surveys and cultural monitoring activities (heritage field engagements). This role will communication with consultants, proponents and KNAC Representatives regarding logistical arrangements for heritage field engagements and Welcome to Country ceremonies as well as support the administration and finance functions for events. 

About You

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with local communities, stakeholders and clients in a locally and culturally appropriate manner in the region.
  • Ability to organise, book  and follow up on medical appointments
  • Ability to arrange travel bookings for the Heritage services team
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • It is a requirement of the role to provide a National Police Certificate. 
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated cultural competence and knowledge of working in the region.
