Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is seeking a committed Heritage Services Logistics Officer to join our dedicated team. Based in South Hedland, you’ll support the day-to-day coordination of cultural heritage fieldwork that makes a real difference on-Country.
About Us
Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the Native Title representative group for the Nyiyaparli People, with approximately 400 current members. The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the east Pilbara region. This area includes the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases, and significant mining operations. Locations within the Determination Area are places of particular significance to the Nyiyaparli People, including ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools, and natural resources. resources.
Position Purpose
As our Heritage Services Logistics Officer, you’ll be the engine room behind the scenes, organising travel, scheduling fieldwork, and supporting KNAC representatives in getting safely to Country.
Working closely with the Heritage & Environment Governance Coordinator, you’ll:
Coordinate travel bookings, medicals, and PPE for field-based representatives
Schedule and support heritage surveys and cultural monitoring activities
Liaise with consultants, proponents, and KNAC staff to ensure seamless engagement
Assist with onboarding, documentation, and WHS compliance
Support Welcome to Country ceremonies and community representation
Manage admin tasks such as receipts, acquittals, and engagement records
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with a mix of initiative, people skills, and logistical smarts, someone who can think on their feet and help us deliver respectful and well-organised heritage services.
Essential:
Prior experience in logistics, scheduling, or admin coordination
Confidence liaising with Traditional Owners, consultants, and other stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and administrative tools
Understanding of WH&S principles and duty of care
Driver’s Licence
Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or on heritage-related projects
Familiarity with the Pilbara region or Nyiyaparli Country
