About Us
Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the registered native title body corporate for the Nyiyaparli People with approximately 400 current members.
The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the East Pilbara region, including the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parpajinya, several pastoral leases and significant mining operations. Locations with the Determination Area are places of particular significance to the Nyiyaparli people, including ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools and natural resources.
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Information & Technology Manager, the IT Support Technician provides onsite and remote technical support for KNAC staff. The role works closely with KNAC’s IT Managed Service Provider to troubleshoot issues, minimise downtime, and ensure smooth operations. The IT Support Technician also assists with onboarding/offboarding staff, asset management, IT documentation, and supporting system upgrades and initiatives.
Your New Role
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Provide onsite and remote support for IT issues, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems
Set up, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripherals
Maintain IT asset records, tagging, and procurement
Assist with user onboarding/offboarding and IT training
Lead IT-related projects and upgrades as directed
Support building security systems (swipe cards, cameras)
Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety standards and KNAC policies
What You’ll Bring
Essential experience and qualifications include:
Minimum of 1 year in an IT support or technician role
Experience troubleshooting PCs and laptops (HP preferred)
Microsoft Office and Windows 11 support
Knowledge of smartphone end-user support
Strong communication skills with non-technical users
Ability to travel as required
National Police Check
Desirable experience and qualifications include:
Certificate III (or higher) in Information Technology or similar
Microsoft Certification or training
Current C Class Driver’s Licence
Experience working with Nyiyaparli and/or Aboriginal people
Nyiyaparli people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
