Member Support Officer

About Us 

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the Native Title representative group for the Nyiyaparli People, with approximately 400 current members. The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the east Pilbara region. This area includes the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases, and significant mining operations. Locations within the Determination Area are places of particular significance to the Nyiyaparli people, including ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools, and natural resources.

 

Location

This role is located in KNAC’s South Hedland office. 

 

Position Purpose 

We are seeking 1 x Full Time, and 1 x Part Time (0.5) dedicated and detail-oriented Member Support Officer to join our Community & Corporate Services team. This dynamic role will involve greeting members and visitors, handling phone inquiries, managing mail, assisting with meetings and events, and performing clerical duties. The role also focuses on supporting our members by addressing their inquiries, helping with forms and documentation, and ensuring compliance with KNAC policies.

This role requires a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service, organisational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information. You will also support community events and workshops and provide referrals to other services when necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide frontline member support by greeting visitors and addressing phone and email inquiries. 
  • Assist members with applications, ensuring compliance with KNAC policies, and process documentation promptly. 
  • Maintain accurate records of member support services and document daily statistics. 
  • Manage reception duties, including handling mail, updating calendars, and maintaining the office environment. 
  • Provide effective communication with all members, clients, suppliers, stakeholders, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere at all times. 
 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential experience and qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role. 
  • Experience working with Nyiyaparli People or other Aboriginal communities. 
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn other software systems. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. 
  • National Police Check.
